Navtrak utilizes GPS satellites to communicate vehicle speed and position to small boxes called mobile managers which are installed in your vehicles. The Mobile Manager® transmits information through a wireless data network known as CDPD, to the Internet, then to our secure Navtrak operations center. This process occurs instantly and the information is available for real-time vehicle reporting on the internet and for viewing on our mapping software from your personal computer.

Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL)

Utilizing GPS Technology and a Wireless Data Network we are able to create a very effective management system that tracks, monitors and communicates with any mobile work force. Giving companies the ability to manage what they could not see can provide tremendous cost saving and improve the overall efficiency of any operation. Whether you want to remotely monitor when the concrete is being poured, analyze the length of stops, control overtime, determine a better route or simply communicate, NavTraK.Net can advise and customize to your specific needs.

GPS is a Satellite Navigation System

GPS is funded by and controlled by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). While there are many thousands of civil users of GPS worldwide, the system was designed for and is operated by the U.S. military.

The GPS Constellation consists of 24 satellites that orbit the earth in 12 hours. GPS receivers, receiving several satellites at the same time, can compute position, speed and time estimates.

CDPD is a Wireless Digital Highway to the Internet

  • Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD or Wireless IP) is a digital technology created specifically for sending and receiving data over the cellular network.
  • CDPD is based on TCP/IP the industry standard, so it's ready to work seamlessly with any Internet-based application.
  • Efficient- CDPD has low error rates, higher speed and is less expensive that analog wireless connection.
  • Secure- the airlink portion of your data transmission is virtually unscannable and indecipherable to anyone but the intended recipient.
  • Reliable- operating at 19.2 kbps, CDPD encodes data into digital packets and transfers these packets over the air securely and efficiently. If connection is lost during transmission, the modem will reconnect to the network and automatically re-transmit or re-receive the message in its entirety.
  • Cost Effective- CDPD usage is charged by the size of the data you transmit or receive measured in kilobytes, not the length of time you're using the service. That means you can be "on-line" all day and only incur costs for the data actually sent or received.
  • Price Plans- From $14.95 per month for 250 kilobytes to $39.95 monthly for unlimited usage with a two-year commitment, and that includes your own IP address. This aggressive pricing has made mobile data communications very affordable and has opened up a whole New World for the mobile user.
